Aloha!

I have just returned from photographing a wedding in Kauai, and let me tell you, it has been a challenge to get myself back to regular speed!  The wedding was lovely (photos to be posted at a later date) and the vacation was just what I needed.  I have been to the island before, where I took TONS of photos, but this time I really wanted to spend most of my time “in the moment” as opposed to behind the lens.  That said, I had to take my camera out a couple of times, but I only allowed myself to use one lens…. for two reasons: 1) I didn’t want to lug all of my gear around while wearing my bathing suit  2) it made me really slow down, step back, and enjoy.  I went snorkeling pretty much daily.  I was able to see sharks (yeah I said sharks), sea turtles, and of course hundreds of tropical fish.  Days were also filled with hiking, sun bathing, exploring, and usually ended with a couple of beers on the beach to watch the sunset.  It was a great getaway, but now it is back to work!  Here are just a couple of images from my adventure.  The rest get to stay as mental images and memories.
