Simply Wonderful

Here is a peek at the wedding, my amazing and talented sidekick, Ali Harvey and I photographed last weekend.  We started downtown at the Alexis Hotel, headed into Ballard to King’s Hardware, and ended on Golden Gardens for a few more photos, the ceremony, and the reception.  Aside from the traditional focus of every wedding day (the bride and groom), the focus of this day was really about fun and everyone enjoying the experience (I mean how many bridal parties get to drink a tall boy of Rainier for the photo portion of their day?).  Keeping in that spirit, I kept this post mostly about the people and less about the details or rituals of every wedding.  Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of wonderful details orchestrated by the lovely Megan Clark of Clutch Events, like wood fired oven pizzas made to order by Inferno Catering , mini cheesecakes as the wedding cake created by The Confectional in Pike Place Market, or the traditional English party crackers/poppers filled with paper hats provided for each guest and “cracked” for good luck.  They are all documented, but for this post, it is all about the emotions and joy experienced by the people.  It was such a pleasure to be a part of this day!  Enjoy!

Paul Russell (Father of the groom) - Ladies;

Thank you for the fantastic pictures of the wedding. You have captured the love and affection that Matt and Tonja have for each other and all their friends. The pictures of Matt and Tonja with the sunset behind them while they share a kiss is magical. How you planned that was ingenious. Congratulations

Paul and Linda Russell
