She’s beautiful, willful, smart, athletic, girly, and she just turned 3 (going on 13–watch out mom and dad!). Our day began with a little family photo session. Since this is Izzie’s world and we are all just guests, the shoot lasted as long as she wanted it to, which wasn’t very long. No worries, a little photo stalking, some fairy wings, sidewalk chalk and snacks, and I was back in the game. As our family session wound down, the guests began to arrive for one fabulous 3-year-old blow out! It was filled with every child’s favorite things. Candy, cake, the greatest bubble machine ever, magic wands, games, side walk chalk, bikes, a 2 story tree house! (we learned that it was much easier to go up than down–dad had to rescue some stranded princesses), and the hit of the party: the sprinkler. *Due to the fact that nearly each child stripped naked to run through the sprinkler, I have decided not to post those photos

.* Izzie appeared to be having a wonderful time with exception to blowing out her birthday candles. Don’t worry, she had plenty of help. The day ended with the excitement of presents. I completely forgot how giddy all kids get over opening presents, even when they aren’t for them. Their little fingers were twitching away with the sheer need at a chance to rip away at least one strip of that colorful paper. So dang cute! Once the Leap Frog laptop was unwrapped, Izzie’s world shrunk down to just her. She was hooked and has probably already set up a facebook account. This seemed like the opportune time to pass out the parting gifts–pez dispensers, paddle ball, bracelets, and rings with a side of happiness and sugar highs. Happy Birthday Izzie!

Two cute little boys, two cakes, two candles (times two), two prizes given by the birthday clown, a whole lotta friends and family, and some AMAZING food (supplied by both the family and Monsoon) = a whole lotta fun and two very tired parents.

I was there when these cuties turned one, so I was thrilled to be there for this next big step. It was a great celebration graced with one of the only non-rainy days Seattle had experienced in a while–what luck. Here’s a peek at some of the fun. Enjoy!

I wasn’t the only one at the Luxe event who was inspired by all of the wonderful ideas. The style editor of Seattle Metropolitan and Seattle Metropolitan Bride & Groom magazines, Laura Cassidy, also fell in love with the event and chose to use my photos in her blog about it. Lucky me!
